The McIntyre Lab was recently awarded a $50,000 pilot grant from the University of Florida McKnight Brain Institute. This funding will help us probe the role of the g-protein coupled receptor, MCHR1, in regulating chemosensory behaviors in both the olfactory system and in sucrose reward. We will be specifically investigating the importance of the enrichment of MCHR1 in the primary cilia of neurons in the Olfactory bulb, VTA and Nucleus Accumbens.
